This site is dedicated to the memory of Austin Bolling.

Austin Bolling was born on October 14, 1996. He Was Only 15 When He Was Taken Home Too Be With The Lord. Two Wise Central High School students died in a car accident early Sunday morning following a late night meal. Austin Joseph Bolling, 15, and Gerald Kevin Johnson, 17, were in the backseat of a 2005 Volkswagen Beetle. The car was traveling “at a high rate of speed” along State Route 23 near the Esserville intersection, according to the Virginia State Police. The 17-year-old female driver of the vehicle lost control in a corner and the car hit the guardrail around 3:30 a.m. The vehicle flipped over the guardrail and rolled down an embankment. Four of the five occupants, including Bolling and Johnson, were ejected from the vehicle. Johnson died at the scene, police said Bolling was transported to Holston Valley Medical Center and later died from his injuries. “They were coming from the Huddle House,” Virginia State Police Trooper G.A. Bowers said. “They had been eating and were on their way home.” The driver survived the accident. She was airlifted to Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport,Tenn., and is recovering from her injuries. Bowers said her name is not being released but she does face possible criminal charges in the accident. Two other Wise Central High School students were injured in the accident – Jeremy Houston Vires, 17, and Johnson’s twin brother Ajay Johnson, 17. They were transported to Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Norton and treated for minor injuries. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident but speed was a contributing factor, Bowers said. All teenagers were classmates at Wise Central High School except the driver, who was a recent graduate.
